Day 90 glass bunny
my little glass bunny is my ring holder for my craft room. I love jewelry but I hate wearing it. haha I come home and take it all off. I love wearing stuff when I am out but the minute I get home it all comes off. I had to get little spots to put them cause I would lose my rings all the time

Day 86- let go
on my walk I noticed this tree that still had all these leaves on it, clinging to it. they were so tiny. I used my +4 magnifier on this shot.
The leave for some reason reminded me if a couple I know. Their relationship is dead and has been for so long but they don't seem to let go. why not? let go already. weird thing to think of when looking at leaves, right?

Day 84- run forest run
I found a place today that I want to get as many pics out of the area as I can. I am going to go back and take my walk back there each day to see what I can find.
this field just looks so inviting. I really want to run through it so bad. It had a very large fence but I am sure I can break in and run! haha

Day 83- pens
I like to buy art supplies and *sometimes* I even use them! haha I love these pens, they are called slick writers and I use them for scrapbooking....or um, when I "use" to scrapbook. I never make time for my old hobbies anymore, I really should.
Honestly though....I wish I was an artist, a painter or someone that could draw more than a stick figure. I admire those with that ability!

Day 81- reading
I have started reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. I actually started it back in Dec but only got to page 2 and put it down and read 2 other books since, but I picked it up and I have to say much better than the first 3. I am really enjoying it.
This week I have been playing around with my 50mm and +4 magnifier. My man called it the poor woman's macro hahahhah true, but I can't afford a macro lens right now and I am having fun with all the stuff he got me for Christmas
nice results, don't you think?

Day 80- these were in her hands
Today we had a Birthday party for my uncle and cousin, it was so much fun. We drank, ate and just had a good time. We all felt that one special person missing though......yeah, my grandma. When I walked in and hugged my Grandpa, it felt different. I ALWAYS hugged my Grandma first. Its hard to see him without her. I believe they were married for almost 60 years.
anyways, my cousin called me into her room and she said she saved a few things for me. (mind you my mom had given me a couple of items already that were my grma's). So she hands me, a ring that I remember my grandma wearing, a necklace that is mine until I give it to my daughter, a photo, a hankie, and all of her crochet hooks. I honestly feel so honored to be getting anything that was hers. The hooks are so special because she crochet a lot, and I don't know, its just neat to know they were in her hands. the hands that always held mine, the hands that were strong but gentle. The hands of my grandmother. I sure do miss her.
PS: yes, I am very behind uploading and blogging. I have been so busy the entire month of march. I didn't miss taking any pics but I haven't made much time to upload them, so I have been doing that this week.

Day 63- Bibliophile
yes, that is the definition of me. I am a book lover. I have been since I was a baby.
I don't know what brought on my love of reading but its something that as always been with me. I will never forget in the 4th grade when we did our testing, I tested to be reading at the 7th grade level. I think it might have had something to do with my mom. She read to me since I was little. We would discuss the book, then when I was old enough to read on my own, I would still tell her all about them.
Also when I was about 11 years old my mom went back to college and I started to read her books, so there I was in the 6th grade already reading books that were above my level by many years.
I read all kinds of books, no romance books, sorry I just think those are LAME! lol but I have been known to read chic lit, and I am totally ok with that. I know there are these cool and fancy book reader gadgets and crap, but you will not catch me with one of those in my hand. I am a book purist. I love the feel and smell of a brand new book in my hands. I do think the cool feature of the nook and others, is that you can make the text larger! haha I am half blind when I read so that is the only thing I think is cool but other than that....take your nook and shove it! nah, I know they are neat and great for some, just not for me :)
My long time running favorites:
1. East Of Eden by John Steinbeck
2. 100 years of solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
3. Like Water for chocolate by Laura Esquivel
4. The lovely bones by Alice Sebold
5. Old bones ( this is just sentimental)
The reason Old Bones is on there, I when I was 8 I got really sick, I had to stay out of school for 2 weeks. My little friend came over one day with a get well basket, it was filled with all sorts of stuff and she put in there her copy of Old bones, I read it twice that week, and I even read it out loud to my mom. I had that book until I was 21 then my sweet little brother and his friends decided to take a bunch of my books and my baby blankets and have a little picnic...uh yeah, it rained and he left all my stuff because it was a total down poor. :( I never saw my special books and blankets ever again.
Fast Forward to the year 1998. On Christmas eve we opened our presents and what did I open?, an old copy of Old Bones, My husband tracked a copy down from the other side of the U.S. I was speechless. I couldn't believe he remembered me telling him about that book. I cherish that book til this very day.

Day 62 - Be kind, rewind
Secret: vhs tapes that I can't seem to part with. Here are a few I have, I have a few more than what is photographed here but you get the idea, I have mostly Disney movies on VHS, I can't tell you why I have kept them, cause there is no good reason and I have been thinking about tossing them out. I don't imagine I will ever watch them again, seeing as I have most of the movies on DVD.
I bought most of these when I was in college. haha I am a huge Disney fan and I remember getting so excited when they would open the vault and release another Disney classic. I would rush out and get it.

Day 61- want to buy some cookies?!
So, I did 30 secrets in 30 days back in 08, the thing is, I only got to day 20, well in a group I belong to, a mini challenge is to do 31 secrets in 31 days. I think I will just do the additional 10 I didn't get done. who knows though....I might keep going.
(click HERE for the other secrets I have done)
So yeah.....it might even be something my good friends might not even know about me. I was a Brownie! Growing up I always wanted to join different groups and sports, but my mom was shy and she just didn't really want to be bothered with all that stuff, but she finally said I could be a brownie, omg! what an awesome year I had. I learned so much. I sold cookies and calenders. I sold my little ass off. I was the top seller in my troop! I learned how to camp.....granted it was only in the troop leaders back yard. My mom didn't allow me to go on the big camping trip all the girls went on.
It was honestly so much fun. I will never forget it. I made some friends for life too. The bummer was, my troop meetings were on Tues nights and my mom said it took time away from her plans, so I was a short lived girl scout. She made me quit. I was sad but that's just how it went.
I had hoped to have a little girl myself and have her sign up. lol ah well, I have nephews and they are cub scouts! I get to have fun with their projects and stuff.
I promise:
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The law:
I will do my best to be
Honest and fair,
Friendly and helpful,
Considerate and caring,
Courageous and strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do,
And to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Day 60- Beautiful day!
Yes, it is a beautiful day here in California. Today I walked out and looked up and saw the Tree in our front yard in full bloom!! granted.....it will end up leaving a big mess but right now its almost magical when I look up and see that tree against the bright blue sky.
Today is my best friend's bday, someone that I care for very much, what a better day to be born? the start of a new month, and its such a pretty day, in Cal anyways! haha
